Here post what Pinky asked:
we are still a bit confused and not sure that we understand your requirement correctly. Please suggest :)
1) You need us to set up a challenge for other people to apply it, right?
Is it something like 'Banpu Champion for Change' competition?
2) Our challenge needs to be long-term (10 year up)? If we set the period for 3 years, is it okay?
3) On July 3, besides the challenge statement, what else do we have to present?

I know it took me a while to answer this, because of challenges accessing Blogger while in China. Hopefully, you have continued to make progress in my absence despite not having answers to your questions.
ReplyDeleteLet's take a look at what you asked:

I have not read the details about the Banpu Challenge, since it is in Thai, but from my understanding, yes, it seems to have a similar goal.
If you are not clear, please review the slides that I presented at Orientation. The Gates Grand Challenges are excellent examples (albeit for a different goal, public health in developing countries) of what you will try to do.

2) Our challenge needs to be long-term (10 year up)? If we set the period for 3 years, is it okay?

There is never a "right" answer to this kind of question, and it will depend on the judges (and how well you convince them of your goal). A shorter challenge does have the benefit of appearing more feasible, because it does not need to look out so far into an uncertain future. On the other hand, a well-written, inspirational, long-term Challenge will likely be more successful

3) On July 3, besides the challenge statement, what else do we have to present?

Unless it is obvious, explain why we should be choosing and supporting you challenge over everyone else's. You will probably want to provide data from research, explain the size of the problem, and also explain why you believe that the Challenge, although ambitious, is feasible, and is likely to get entrepreneurs Moving Into Action.
Most importantly, get us EXCITED about Taking On your Challenge.
I hope these answers help.
